Try to be reasonable in the way you grow, and don't ever think it is too late. It is never too late. Even if you are going to die tomorrow, keep yourself straight and clear and be a happy human being today. If you keep your situation happy day by day, you will eventually reach the greatest happiness of enlightenment.
-Lama Thubten Yeshe, The Bliss of Inner Fire
**How can you care?** 'Because I choose to.' **You make it sound so simple.** 'That's because it is simple. Hard sometimes, but simple.'

I am probably one of the last people on the planet to start watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". The first two episodes were good, established faces and heels, got things going that they can milk for a while. The only weirdness was that Sarah what's-her-face doesn't look 16. I can work with not acting 16, power and responsibility do that to you, but she looks 20ish.
In bad news, my old MP3 player is finally done for. I plugged it in this morning to charge it up, and when I came back it didn't think it was plugged in. I turned it on, no juice, reset it, no juice. *sigh* So, I'll spend half of tomorrow going to various electronic places and seeing if I can find a decent 20GB machine that works well with Windows Media Player for not too much money. :-p

So I get Advent Children on my lunch break, and I am very good and don't even touch it while I'm at work. I bring it home, and figure I'd better watch the English dub once, so I can be knowledgable in my bitching about it. ;-)
RANDOM THOUGHTS:
- No translation of the opening Japanese in the English version???
- Wow, they expanded Marlene's opening speech significantly. It would probably help those who have never played FF VII a little.
- Um, OK, we have stoner Yazoo...
- BOO, dead giveaway on who the wheelchair man is in Kadaj's phone conversation
- LMAO at Barnett's voice
- They nailed Reno and Rude, though, I'll give them that much
- Rufus's voice is... odd, with weird hesitations
- "Cloud, you're an ex-Soldier, aren't you?" "...In my head..." *thunk* Well FUCK, they nailed that dead on.
- Tifa sounds like she's talking around a swollen tongue
- Kadaj's voice is going to take getting used to
- There are some new shots in this version... Cloud walking through the church was completely new
- "Dilly-dall shilly-shally..." What. The. FUCK????? That has to be the shittiest translation ever.
- Yazoo's constantly giggling during fights is not helping his stoner image
- Vincent's voice is good
- "You don't have a phone?" LOL at Marlene
- Yuffie almost sounds like Rikku, although if it's the same girl from KH2 they were two seperate people
- Loz did not just say, "You meanie!" *facepalm*
- GAAAAHHH, FUCKING CID IS FUCKING NOT FROM FUCKING TEXAS!!!!!
- "Where can I buy a phone?" *falls out of her chair* Damn, Vincent can be funny
- Cait Sith with a strong Scottish voice is weird, but sorta appropriate
- Um, Cait Sith just told Yuffie to shut up. Twice. And he wasn't torn to shreds by Red or Yuffie. This is... incredible wrong.
- "Good to see you again..." Oh hell yeah, Superman as Sephiroth works for me, let the ass-kicking commence!
- By the end Kadaj's voice actor had gotten the hang of the character and it worked better.
- Aerith was still as cringe-inducing as she was in KH2, but she talked less here
Well, not a bad dub, but not the best, either. I'll watch the sub this evening to see how many differences in dialoge I can spot.

Ajita asked: "What is it that smothers the world and makes it so hard to see? What is it that pollutes the world and seems to threaten it?"
The Buddha answered: "It is ignorance that smothers, and it is carelessness and greed that make it invisible. The hunger of craving pollutes the world, and the pain of suffering causes the greatest fear."

Well, I finished it.
The whole game is sweet, but never cloying. There's a lot of hope, and yeah, bad stuff happens and people die (*GASP* In a Disney thing?!?!?), but it's triumphant.
I didn't get the "secret" video at the end, and I think I missed one little scene during the credits since I didn't take on the optional boss. I'll definitely replay it on proud mode.

Random note before the Random Thoughts - How did I live without owning more T. M. Revolution than I currently do, which is none? Amazing music!
DAY 2
Beginning of the Struggle tournament - Top of Yen Sid's Tower
- The voice for real Vivi (as opposed to Nobody as Vivi, which was fucking creepy) is a bit young. Wasn't he supposed to be 10 or so in FF IX?
- Who is this fucktard with white hair and purple eyes, and why the fuck is he calling himself Setzer Gabbiani?
- So Ansem is a Black Robed Guy. Didn't we kill him last game?
- Chrisopher Lee rules. This will likely be repeated quite frequently.
- The scene in the train, where Roxas's three friends just hold out their jewels and stare... that was weird and disturbing.
- "I don't feel like cooperating with destiny." At least they got Seifer right.
- I am so confused after all the interludes before Day 6... who are the bad guys, Organization XIII or DiZ?
- Axel is... strangely sympathetic, which just increases my confusion as to what is going on.
- Roxas gets two keyblades, and suddenly he is a SERIOUS ass-kicking machine. Holy shit, when Sora gets that this is going to completely rock!
- "It looks like my summer vacation is over." With one sentence, I'm about to cry over a character that I've only known for 3 hours.
- Why is King Mickey dressed like one of the Org XIII guys?
- I suddenly notice that Sora's grown about 6 inches and his homeboy pants are about to be Daisy Duke shorts, and I'm falling out of my chair giggling.
I played some this morning, and while I'll save the majority of my comments for tomorrow's Random Thoughts, I must say that whoever decided that Cid from FF VII needed to have a thick Texan accent is in serious need of an ass-kicking. :-p

Random Thoughts for the first little bit playing Kingdom Hearts 2...
- Came home, fed the cats, got a snack, took some Advil in preperation for the arthritis in my hands hating me, set the inch-thick hint book within reach, and popped the game in.
- The piano music from the first one is back, although in a sadder form
- The FMV recap of the first game and a bit of "Chain of Memories" was absolutely gorgeous, and I love the song.
- Seifer!
- GAH! CHRISTOPHER FUCKING LEE HAS A MAJOR SPEAKING ROLE!!! *marks out*
- Nice tutorial, but I could do without the triangle-button prompt taking up the entire screen
- Um, there's computers involved now?
- Tons of references to "Chain of Memories"...
- "Chicken wuss!" Seifer called Roxas a "chicken wuss"! LOL! It's those little details I love.
- Lots more questions than answers by the end of the 3rd day
- Um, OK, who is this moron you're calling Setzer, and why is he hoisting a title belt over his head?
Unfortunately, a burning line of pain in my left shoulder made me quit after 1:17, telling me that I'm going to have to let the doctor stick his camera in there at some point. :-p Maybe after Dragon*Con...
The camera is much improved from the first, I'll say that.
More tomorrow!

*trying desperately to ignore the voices in my desk drawer*
I've got Kingdom Hearts 2 and the huge hint book in there... There are people begging to be scanned and sent to friends, and an absolutely gorgeous full-body shot of KH Sephiroth. If they ever make that into a figurine, I'm snapping it up as quick as I did the AC Sephiroth (even tho it has iron grey hair instead of white hair... someday I'll fix that...).
Don't panic if you don't hear from me for a while...

You know it's going to be one of those days when...
...you wake up at 4:30am and seriously debate the pros and cons of just letting your sinuses explode.
Get to work, and outside email's been down since, oh, FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
My boss is out, and there's no way I can leave just my co-worker on the help desk, so guess who's at work with a pounding sinus headache, upset stomach from 4 DayQuil in 6 hours, and a snarly attitude?
